The Heirloom Market's Spring Vintage Market in Bridgeport Nebraska

The Spring Market by The Heirloom Market

Last weekend was the Spring Market in Bridgeport Nebraska with The Heirloom Market girls!  I really didn't think that I was going to get there with the amount of heavy snow that fell between Colorado and Nebraska but I managed to get there and I'm so glad that I did.  Even though the weather wasn't exactly what you would think it would be the end of May (cold and wet) it was still a ton of fun and from my point of view it looked like everyone that came was having a good time, too.  There were fire pits to...

May's floral bouquet deconstructed and laid flat, still life photography by Fort Collins Colorado Photographer Brenda Landrum.

May Deconstruction Image

May's bouquet was really beautiful with fun spring stems in greens, purple, and a touch of orange.  I think my favorite stem they used was the cabbage like one.  There were a couple tulips also but I unfortunately didn't get to photographing this until they were already done.  I'm having a ton of fun with this little project!  I'm still not sure of the name of it but I'll keep pondering ideas....

Set of 5 fine art notecards for wedding gifts made by Still Life Photographer Brenda Landrum of Fort Collins Colorado.

Fine Art Note Cards

In the spring I had a really fun project to put together!  I was asked to create a set of notecards as gifts to the family and friends of a wedding couple.  The client chose 5 different images for each card set and we made 20 total sets.  I printed every image in house and put the cards together myself.  It took a bit of time for this process and I'm so thankful they gave me plenty of time to deliver everything.  They turned out so nice and I hope the recipients love them!  Here is what my client had...

It’s Spring Market Week!

I have been excited about the Spring Market since last Fall!!  So last September The Heirloom Market girls put on their very first Fall Market with some awesome vendors with loads of antique, refurbished, vintage finds.  It was so much fun and in my opinion a great success with all who came.  They instantly went into planning a Spring Market and I have been working with them in creating images, a new website, and graphics in preparation for May 20.  Well now May 20 is only days away and I can't wait to get back to Bridgeport, Nebraska!  Are you going...

Simple iPhone Photography Tricks by photographer Brenda Landrum.

iPhone Photography Tips

A couple of weeks ago my daughter was in her school's musical and I was a volunteer which meant I got to watch all three performances, once from the second row and twice from the back.  While being a spectator I noticed that most people taking photos with their iPhone's did not know how to control the iPhone camera to get the best photo in a difficult lighting situation.  As I was giving tips to others I thought that maybe I would share some tips here on my blog for those who may not know about these little tricks to control...

Thoughts about starting new projects called Single Stem and Deconstruction by Floral Photographer Brenda Landrum in Fort Collins Colorado.

Starting New Projects

A couple of weeks ago my husband surprised me with a gift of a flower subscription to a local floral shop.  When I picked up my first bouquet I was instantly inspired by how beautiful it was and by the unusual stems they had used.  This inspired the first project which I think I'm naming Single Stem  This project had already sort of started in 2016 with the daffodil and cala lily images I did.  I love seeing one single stem and really appreciating it's form and beauty on it's own.  I know, that sounds a bit cheesy but it's...

A look back over the month of April by photographer Brenda Landrum.

Goodbye April

Man another month gone already! April was so busy and yet so good.  I had a lot of fun projects that I really enjoyed working on!  This week April almost seems like a blur to me but no need to dwell in the past.  It's a new month with new projects to start and a school year to end!! Let's do this, May!!  ...

Crazy Week with the School Musical!

Wow!  What a week!! So last weekend my daughter finally performed in her school's musical.  All of last week was nothing but practice and let me tell you there were hours and hours of practice.  Everyone had been preparing for this musical since January with sets, props, costume's, posters, programs, desserts (it's dessert theater), and lots of things that I can't think of right now.  It took a lot of people and a lot of hours to put this thing together and I'm thrilled to say that it went so great! My daughter had been telling me all week that practice wasn't...

Goals for 2017 … First Three Months

Good Morning! So it's already April and there is only 6 weeks left of school and then Summer is going to be here!  I feel like we are moving at the speed of a freight train right now getting ready for our daughter's Musical next week.  Next week is going to be crazy indeed.  Anyway, I woke up today thinking about my goals and that it was time for a blog update.  It's been 3 full months of tracking goals and it's time to look back and see how things are going, where I need to focus more, and make any...

Pageant Portfolio Headshots by Portrait Photographer Brenda Landrum in Fort Collins Colorado

Leah … Portrait Portfolio

This is one of my beautiful nieces!  I love being an Aunt and especially when I get to do what I love and photograph them.  Leah needed some headshots for a competition she is submitting to and I was more then happy to be her photographer.  She is quite the natural in front of the camera.  She is such a cutie and has the sweetest personality.  We did her entire photoshoot in her family's home and yard which I love because it's unique to her and a comfortable space. I hope she does amazing in her competition.  We're cheering for you!  ...

Yummy glazed donuts, still life photography, food photography, by Northern Colorado photographer Brenda Landrum.

Donuts Anyone?

About once pr month I take a breakfast dish to a bible study group I am in.  I always sign up to bring something sugary and unhealthy (you're welcome) because well that's what I want for breakfast.  So last week I was trying to decide what to bring and I have never seen anyone bring donuts.  I decided it was time for donuts.  It was really hard for my daughter and husband to not eat them all first.  Actually my daughter sneaked one before I could tell her not to! Visit the Print Shop to view more ...

Recap of March 2017 by Front Range Lifestyle and Still Life Photographer Brenda Landrum.

Goodbye March

Another month is done. Why do they seem to be going by so quickly?  After Christmas I thought, oh good January will slow down.  Then I thought well maybe February will slow down?  Yes, it's March and we can slow down!  Nope.  It's just go go go every single day, week, and month.  I talk about months going by quickly ...

Spring Break 2017 Flat Lay by Brenda Landrum.

Spring Break 2017

Our Spring Break was last week and since my husband has just started a new job we knew that we would not be able to go anywhere so our time was spent at home being easy going and getting lots of rest.  My daughter and I got our haircut, we took daily walks, made good food for dad, watched movies, read books, and slept in.  I don't mind simple Spring Breaks.  In fact, typically we don't go anywhere and choose to stay home with no schedule or routine's to keep. What does your ideal Spring Break look like?...
