This post by Kristen Simpson-Chandler MA, LPC really makes you think about some things to discuss before you tie the knot. Even for some of us who have been married for a long time should maybe go over these things again, like who does what around the house. Ya…I’d like more help in that department and I’m guessing there are a lot of you out there that feel the same. Ha! Anyway, some of the topics are about money, children, chores, & one you may not think to talk about and that is the in-laws. How to split holiday’s and so on. I just discovered these adorable personalized hangers from LilaFrances on Etsy! Brides, the possibilities of these are endless and they are so affordable! Most weddings that I photograph the one thing that isn’t thought about is a pretty hanger for the wedding dress. It is such a minor detail but will end up in the photos that you will look at for years to come. Can you imagine how amazing your wedding dress will look hanging on one of these?? Everyone will talk about it!! Plus it is a great keepsake from your wedding day!

What about as a gift with each of your attendants name to use for their dresses?

Then I started thinking about other occasions that these would be fun for. How about as a baby gift? You must look at her tiny hangers for kids!

A week ago I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Mike and Anne-Marie in Breckenridge, Colorado. I could barely control my excitement when they asked me almost a year ago to be their photographer and could not wait to see them in Breckenridge.

Mike and Anne-Marie were so calm and collected all day long which made it so easy to photograph them. Their day flowed so beautifully and I feel honored to have been able to document everything that happened around me. Their wedding and reception all took place at Ten Mile Station which sits on the mountain side and can only be reach by taking a ski lift up to it during the winter. During the summer you take a very bumpy dirt road (if I wouldn’t of been nervous driving on there I would of taken a photo!) to get to the location. It was well worth it because there were the most glorious views of the mountains!!

Thank you Mike and Anne-Marie for asking me to photograph your wedding day! I wish the both of you all the best in the future and I hope your honeymoon in Riviera Maya was as wonderful as you hoped it would be.

Today a dream has come true! It is one thing to have my own blog to showcase all of my wonderful clients but to be chosen to be featured on a wedding blog is such an honor. On a quiet night last week after I had put my daughter to bed I received an email from Couture Colorado saying they want to feature the wedding that I submitted to them. I just about dropped my laptop from jumping out of my seat so quickly! I was beyond excited and wanted to scream but did a silent scream instead so I didn’t wake up my girl who was sleeping in bed. My husband thought I had lost my mind until I could muster the words to tell him why I was acting crazy. Then the hard part came, I had to keep it a secret. I of course told my mom but told her to keep it on the hush hush until it actually happened. I almost spilled the beans on my twitter and facebook but I didn’t want to jinx it so I didn’t share the great news!

I loved everything about Jesse and Lauren’s wedding day. Everyone was so kind to me and they really made me feel like part of the family. The day flowed flawlessly and each and every detail was thought about thoroughly. There were so many wonderful moments to photograph and decorations to ooh and aah over. I am thrilled that their wedding is featured on Couture Colorado and will inspire many brides to come.

Colorado Brides I found a great resource for all your wedding needs! Couture Colorado has a great website for inspiration for your wedding. This site has only been up for a couple of months and is doing awesome! They also have a Facebook Fan Page that you can join to be kept up to date on all things weddings. Go check them out for yourself!!
