Watching Annie Leibovitz Photograph

I love to watch behind the scenes of Annie Leibovitz photographing portrait subjects.  Last year there was a video of her photographing Queen Elizabeth that was fascinating!  This video is of her photographing Conny Dufgran, the co-founder of Profoto.  It’s fun to watch, if your a photographer that is.  One thing that I found so funny was that this video catches Annie ‘chimping’!!!  Love it!

Here is the image from the shoot!  I love everything that is going on in this image but the most important, the lighting is absolutely PERFECT!  Click the image below to be taken to the website to view the video.

What Inspires You?

There is a catalog that I receive every few months and when I see it in the mailbox I squeal. I do! The first thing I want to do once I step into my home with my precious catalog is sit down with my sticky notes and sharpie and go to town. What am I talking about?

I always find great inspiration for my home and instantly want to start achieving that. I have been in a ‘we can’t keep all this junk anymore so lets throw it away’ mood this week. I have purged many things this week that I have been keeping for NO reason at all. Prints that arrived unsatisfactory from my lab, what am I going to do with those! I stored them but no longer. Boxes that my prints arrive in, they went out with the recycling today. Books. Books. Books. My husband and I are book freaks and to add to that obsession I love my magazines even more! I have issue after issue of Photography magazines like you wouldn’t believe. No, I did not toss these out because I can’t. Do I go back and look at them? Very rarely but they make me feel good I guess to have them around so I’ve been organizing them.

Potterybarn always has great ideas for displaying photographs and art. Last year I had my entertainment area designed something similar to this photo.Our flat screen tv sat on a cabinet and I had family photos arranged all around it. Here are more images that inspire me for wall displays.So the next time you are looking at purchasing wall portraits, find something that inspires you and create a look in your home with your family photos. Even those these inspiration images have fine art displayed, they would mean even more if your family images were in there.

Inspired By {Summit Studio}

Summit Studio is right here in Fort Collins, CO! Holla! I was introduced to this photographer months ago by a friend of mine. Darren Mahuron is so creative with his work and how he shoots a scene and then transforms it in Photoshop. I can not describe his work with the correct words so I think you should just head on over to his site and check it out for yourself. Be sure to check out his video’s with behind the scene’s of a recent campaign he did for Fort Collins.

This is a must see site!

We all love celebrities and seeing beautiful images of them is always fun. BUT…..John Russo’s images are what is making them so beautiful. The lighting…perfect! In the Fashion Portfolio the images of Jaime Pressly are gorgeous. The black and white image of Brian White is stunning as well.

Go check out John Russo’s portfolio site!

Wow! I found another photographer talking about Steve Highfield being an inspiration and his images are truely beautiful. This makes me want to go venture out when there is a full moon and shoot. I used to do this but all those images are on film. I’ll have to dig some up sometime. Ha! As I was looking at his images, especially the rural shots, I found myself feeling ‘home’. That will always be The Nebraska Panhandle for me out on my parents farm. Check out his images…you might be inspired, too!

EDIT:  Ok, I just found his PBase galleries that he updates more often.  Some *amazing* images!
