Anytime I get the opportunity to do landscape photography I will and this last weekend I had the chance. I was driving into Scottsbluff Nebraska to document Alex and Amber’s wedding day when the sun lit up the Monument and these amazing clouds were hovering overhead. I had to wait for the clouds to move just right to let the sun shine through which was worth the yelling my daughter was doing because she wanted to get out of there and go see Grandma. I don’t think I could ever top this image I created a couple years ago of the Monument but I like the calm feeling of this one. What do you think?

A few weeks ago I posted THIS tweet in twitter. I was a tad embarrassed to have been standing in a businesses parking lot taking photos of a tree. I’m sure every person that drove by was wondering what the heck I was doing. Well sometimes we have to do what we have to do to capture something we see. Right?! I have been working on this image quite a bit trying to refine it. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted but the surroundings were not ideal. With cars and buildings everywhere I couldn’t avoid it all. So I shot at the most shallow depth of field I could to blur out the background and also decided to crop this image heavily to not only take out the parking lot but also emphasize the composition I was going for with the long drooping branch. I’m not crazy about the cars reflecting in the background but I like where it is going so far. Would love some feedback!

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph an antique fire truck that belongs to the Bayard Fire Department in Nebraska. It was fun to photograph this little piece of history. Right now I’m working on the rest of the images but I wanted to share a couple of my favorites. Most people would think to photograph the fire truck as a whole but I’m more interested in the details to tell a story together. I would love your feedback on the images below!

This last Saturday we had a gorgeous day so my family decided to go or a little walk along the Poudre River, my favorite spot as you know. :) Usually when I am photographing in this area I am always trying to avoid the huge electrical lines and polls but on that day I decided to make them the subject of my images. It was fun using the lines to lead the eye through the image and use the natural elements to frame them. Yesterday I posted an image that I took with my iPhone 4 so today I thought that I would share an image from my ‘fancy’ camera.

If you would like to see more of my Fine Art florals and landscapes browse on over on Facebook!! Come by and say HI!
