Wow! I am still in awe of what I did yesterday. It really is not like me to leave town mid week, by myself I might add, and go on a little adventure of my own. A week ago I was contacted by Mason Burbach, the Executive Director of West Nebraska Arts Center in Scottsbluff Nebraska, asking if I would be interested in judging their IMAGE Photography Exhibit. JUDGE?!?! Me?? You can imagine the doubt that was exploding out of my mind. Then I calmed down and remembered that this was something that I have always hoped to be able to do. You could say that it was on my bucket list. Here was my chance, no way was I going to pass this by. Even the negative degree weather was not going to stop me from getting there.
I had the most amazing time seeing all the artists wonderful work! It took me awhile to narrow down to my faves and choose which one’s where going to win the awards. I left little notes for the artists about why I chose each image which I found fun because I would love more feedback on my images, it helps to hear what others opinions are. There are some amazing images in the exhibit and I highly recommend stopping by to view them.
The IMAGE Photography Exhibit will open this Friday, February 4, 2011 from 6 to 8pm, at the West Nebraska Arts Center, 106 E. 18th St., in Scottsbluff, NE, and will continue through February 27, 2011.
Here are a few images I took while I was there judging yesterday.
My notes…I’m keeping these papers forever!
