Thanksgiving Without :: Life

Yesterday brought the news we were preparing for but I don’t think you can ever be prepared for it.  My husband lost his Grandmother.  My Father-in-law lost his mom.  News like that always hits you like a ton of bricks, even when you are at the grocery store getting vegi’s for Thanksgiving.  We spent the entire day yesterday making plans for who is going where and calling off our Thanksgiving.  My husband left yesterday afternoon for Nebraska and then for the 2 day drive to Indiana to be with the Landrum family.  He will be gone for a week.  My daughter and I did not go along for many reasons, a hard decision that I might be regretting.  We will not be together for Thanksgiving.  I do not think I have spent a holiday without him in at least the last 14 years.  I am struggling with that.

I can not help but think of how Grandpa Landrum is feeling…….a holiday without her.
