On Thursday my daughter and I went on a field trip with her preschool class to The Farm. This place is pretty cute with their little red barns and silo that you can walk into. They had cows, horses, geese, pigs, goats, and chickens. My little girl was right in there reaching to touch any animal that was close enough. I was proud of her, she even approached them with the back of her hand. She was really hoping to see some baby pigs but there were non…bummer! The goats were so fun because they were expecting some food. The boys loved the little tracker that they could climb all over. My girl turned to me and said, “That’s smaller then Uncle Brock’s tracker!”. She got to ride with her uncle in his ‘big’ tracker last summer so this one was of no concern to her.
This place was a bit funny to me because it is for those ‘city kids’ who would probably never get this close to livestock. Growing up on a farm and in a farming community these animals are everywhere. I love that my girl has the opportunity to be a city kid AND go to a real farm to run around, see the cows in the field, and ride with Uncle Brock.
Just a few images to share…
You can see me in this cows eye. ;)
