Yesterday we made our annual trip to the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver. We have taken our daughter every year since she was 1 yr old. Each year her experience is different which is so much fun to watch. This year she was a bit more crazy and uncontrollable with wanting to run after the butterflies. Now if we were in the ‘wild’ then this would be fine but when your in a small, enclosed area with other kids and adults looking at the butterflies this isn’t such a good idea. Trying to keep her walking was a chore to say the least! I was surprised we didn’t have any falls occur since it’s very humid and the floor is always wet in there.
I have photographed the butterflies every year as well and each year my images are different. This years are my favorite by far, I must be getting better at this! Ha ha ha!!! That’s funny to me…… Anyway, I have quite a few favorites that I want to share. I used my 50mm 1.4 lens and kept my aperature at 1.8 the entire time. I love how the backgrounds blurred in these images. Would love to know what you think!
Next year I hope to take my niece!!!!! ;)
First was the bugs and spiders. These spiders are HUGE and so glad they are in glass cages. You can hold a big spider but NO WAY!!!

Then you can touch star fish, my girl jumped right in! Not me!

Now for some butterflies!

This one is eating a black banana.

I really like this one on the rock…great texture.

My girl trying to see the turtle swimming in the little pond.

Love this shot!

I got her to sit for one millisecond!

This is how she looked the entire time we were there. Big smile, looking up at the butterflies flying around us, and jogging/running. :)
