If you have been following me on Facebook and watch my ‘what’s on your mind’ updates then you know how much I dispise the carpet in my dining room. Who’s genius idea was it to put carpet in a dining room??? AND…what was I thinking when I chose this very light carpet for our home? I certainly had no idea what a child could do to light carpet in a dining room, that is certain. So every time my 4yo, over the last couple of years, spills milk or food onto that carpet I could just scream. Not that it is her fault, we all have accidents and I understand that, but that it’s the light carpet in the dining room. I complain about it A LOT to my husband and to my father who happens to be a contractor. I think I kept hoping that maybe by some weird circumstance that he would end up with a beautiful wood floor that he just had to get rid of and I’d be happy to take it off his hands for….free! Well he does have some wood floor that is extra from a recent job but it’s expensive!!! No go!
Started talking to my hubby about it again and he was open to the idea of taking the carpet out! Woo hoo! Well that got the ball rolling and I took him to Lowe’s this past weekend to check out the flooring. Well I found something that is right in our price range and looks great with everything that I alreay have and I am so excited. I brought home this sample piece and have been laying it around all over the place to make sure that I like the way it looks. My 4yo, who is to smart for her own good, made sure to tell me that I better go back to the store because I need more pieces to finish up the rest of the floor! Smarty pants!
Now I just have to get my Dad down here in between the million other things he has going on! :)
Here it is, both the carpet and linoleum will be covered by this new Fireside Oak floor. Oh it is going to look sweet!
